Bring a character card and start writing. Models are hosted, so there are no keys to buy and nothing to install. Whatever you bring in, you can take back out.
Every reply here is written by a language model.
She sets the taper down on the sill without looking up. “You came back,” she says — not a question, and not quite a welcome either. Outside, the last of the street has gone blue, and somewhere below a shutter is being pulled down for the night.
I take the chair by the window and let her finish.
The wick catches. For a moment her face is the only warm thing in the room. “Sit, then,” she says. “I have a long list and a short evening, and you have never once come here for the conversation.”
The reading column. A character's words are a paragraph in a book face, at a proper reading measure; yours sit to the side in the interface face. The line down the margin only appears where the story actually forked.

The cards are the files you already have. Nothing here is a format only this site can read.
Character cards, both directions
Import a V2 or V3 card as PNG or JSON. Export a PNG that carries both, so the card still opens in whatever you came from.
World books and personas
Keywords, always-included entries, insertion position, scan depth, token budget. {{user}} and {{char}} resolve the way the card expects them to.
No lock-in, on any plan
Import and export stay free and unmetered, including on the free plan. A character you made here is a file you own.
Nothing to install
No Node, no API key, no Discord verification. It runs in a browser, including the one on your phone.
Built for rewriting, not just sending
Every reply is a version
Regenerate and the old reply doesn't disappear — it becomes a sibling you can page back to. Edit any message where it sits. Rewind to an earlier turn and take it somewhere else.
A spine where it matters
Branches are a line down the margin, marked only at the turns that actually forked. A conversation that never branched never gets one.
You can watch the context fill
A meter shows how much of the window this conversation is using, and says so before the oldest messages stop reaching the model.
Reads like a book, or like a chat
Prose is the default. If you'd rather have bubbles, that's one switch, and the character's words keep the book face and the reading measure either way.

Regenerating is the expensive part, so that's what the free plan counts — not how much you write.

It's fiction, and it's a model writing it
Every reply is generated. The interface says so, and keeps saying so when a conversation gets heavy.
Your writing is yours
Export your characters and your conversations whenever you want. Delete the account and the data goes with it.
There's a real helpline behind the fiction
When a conversation turns toward a crisis, the app puts a helpline in front of you. It doesn't try to be one.
Before you ask
- Will my cards work?
- If SillyTavern or a card site can open it, so can this — V2 and V3, PNG or JSON. When one fails, the message says which failure it was: a PNG that lost its text chunk to recompression reads differently from a file that was never a card.
- Which models?
- A fast default tuned for long roleplay context, and premium models metered separately on the paid plans. You don't bring a key, and you don't pick a provider.
- Can I use my own API key?
- Not today. It's planned as an add-on for the top plan rather than a way around paying — a site where the heaviest users bring their own key is a site with no way to stay up.
- Is there group chat?
- Not yet. Two characters in one scene rewrites the context every turn, which costs several times what a one-on-one conversation costs. It'll arrive with a price of its own rather than quietly making everything else worse.
